Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is seeking a strategic, experienced, and visionary leader to serve as Vice President, Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a critical executive role supporting one of the largest and most complex public sector organizations in the province.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP Corporate Services & CFO is a key member of the Executive Management Committee and Senior Leadership Team. This role provides province-wide leadership across core corporate functions, including finance, budgeting, and supply chain, ensuring strong financial stewardship, operational excellence, and alignment with organizational priorities.

As the organization’s most senior financial leader, the VP Corporate Services & CFO is responsible for setting and executing a comprehensive financial strategy that supports the delivery of high-quality health services across Newfoundland and Labrador. With a strong enterprise mindset, the successful candidate will guide budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, oversee accounting operations, and ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory and public-sector standards. The role includes directing external audit processes and working closely with the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees, as well as with government partners, to ensure robust oversight and stewardship of public funds.

Beyond finance, the VP Corporate Services & CFO provides executive leadership for supply chain management. This includes oversight of value-based procurement, performance-based contracting, inventory control, and vendor relationships to support efficient and cost-effective service delivery, as well as leadership of project management, and asset stewardship aligned with long-term sustainability and system priorities.

A collaborative and forward-thinking leader, the VP Corporate Services & CFO works closely with senior executives across the organization to advance strategic objectives, champion opportunities for improvement, and drive transformation across corporate services. They foster a healthy, inclusive workplace culture that attracts, develops, and retains talented professionals, while promoting accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of ten years of senior leadership experience in finance, supply chain, or contract management, preferably within a complex, multi-site organization, along with a Master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A CPA designation in good standing with CPA Newfoundland and Labrador (or eligibility for registration) is required. They are a trusted advisor with demonstrated experience working with senior executives, Boards, and government stakeholders. Known for their integrity, clarity, and relationship-focused leadership style, the successful candidate combines strategic vision with operational discipline to support the ongoing evolution of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services.
